Whitefish and Blacktail Mountain resorts make it possible for us to offer a wide range of slopes, for skiers of every level. Ski season starts with the first few good snowfall (usually around mid-December) and generally continues through all of March.
Ice Fishing is is a big draw during our cold months at many of the local lakes.

Foy's to Blacktail Route, Legacy Bike Park, Whitefish Mountain bike trails from the summit, Road biking the Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park before the road opens, or even the Rails to Trails Bike path from Kalispell to Flathead Lake in Somers.

With views of Flathead Lake and the many surrounding bodies of water, not only will you find hiking trails here that offer stunning getaways filled with piney scents of fresh mountain air, sweeping vistas of crystal clear waters like no other place on Earth.
The Flathead Valley in Montana has many fishing spots, including rivers, lakes, and reservoirs. Angling on Flathead Lake occurs year-round and is most popular in the early spring, summer and fall. Lake trout, lake whitefish and yellow perch comprise most of the catch. Winter ice fishing occurs annually on bays as ice conditions allow. The Flathead River is the most popular stream fishery in the drainage.
Pull on your boots, and head to a rodeo in Flathead Valley for an authentic Montana experience. Steeped in tradition, many of our communities host large professional and small-town rodeos. Enjoy the cowboy culture and marvel at all the challenges like calf roping, bronc riding, bareback riding, steer riding, breakaway roping, and steer wrestling at one of the Flathead Valley Rodeos throughout the summer including - the Bigfork Montana Rodeo, Brash Summer Series, Northwest Montana Fair and Rodeo, Majestic Arena, and more.
